A big congratulations to our U8 girls, who finished 1st place in the USFF National Championship held on July 14th-16th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The U8 girls competed against many high-level clubs including clubs from Colorado and California. In the final match the U8 girls defeated a very talented 5280 Futsal team 4-3 in nail biter.
We would also like to congratulate our U10 girls and U8 boys for placing 2nd and 3rd place at the Nationals. The U10 girls fell short in the finals 5-3 to a west coast giant futsal club “Toque” while the U8 Boys were upset in the semi-finals in a 2-1 loss to LVSA. Both teams had incredible or performances in all matches.
The entire national championship experience was incredible! The energy, the noise, the talent cannot be matched by any youth sport in the United States. This stage allowed our club to understand where we are developmentally in comparison to other clubs across the nation. It gave us an opportunity to identify our unique strengths while also highlighting areas that we can improve on. We left Vegas extremely proud of our three teams in attendance as all three gave an exceptional showing the entire weekend.
This year was a birth year for RSMG. A baseline has been set for all future teams across the club. Our intention over the next year is to continue to move the needle forward with a strong focus on dominating the north east region and bringing more teams to the national stage. Back to the drawing boards we go in anticipation of a bright Winter season ahead, but until then CONGRATULATIONS to our three national teams!
